With a national reputation well-established through the annual Festival of Words event, Moose Jaw will be the location for the National Reading Campaign’s first ever Reading Town celebration May 3rd to 10th.
Educators, organizations, businesses and individuals are already involved in the planning for this 8 day reading extravaganza.
“What we’re doing is coordinating a whole bunch of little projects in the community of Moose Jaw during that eight day period.” explained Project Coordinator Joe Ralko. “We want a whole bunch of little projects to come together to be a very big celebration for the community and right now we’re at almost 40 confirmed projects and events through out the community.”
Everything including writing, reading, blind dates with books, trivia, and competitions are being planned. And if weather permits, there will also be special reading opportunities in Crescent Park.
